About This Project

Kate Allen, MPH, C-IAYT co-founded Be The Change Yoga, a studio and Center for Higher Education in Orange County, CA. The studio is deeply rooted in the philosophical foundations of yoga and understanding of yoga as a therapeutic modality. The studio offers 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program, as well as Orange County’s only Yoga Therapist Training program.

Kate is the Founder and School Director of AlcheMe Yoga Therapy; a yoga therapy company that offers professional training, comprehensive clinical programs, research and outreach initiatives. With a passion for yoga therapy and a background in Public Health, her organizations have built successful community-based relationships with hospitals, health systems and clinics to integrate yoga therapy services into their offerings.

Kate is also passionate about bringing yoga to under-served communities and directs the Yoga Therapy Program at Hoag Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living. She’s currently building out a Yoga Promotores Program to train Spanish-speaking students to become yoga teachers to spread healthy living practices throughout various community organizations.

She has attended every Bhakti / Shakti Fest since 2009 and has found mantra / kirtan to be one of the most transformative tools in her personal practice. These festivals have changed her life in the most profound ways and it is her honor to share what she has learned with the bhakti community.
